Welcome! My name is Colleen VanWyngarden. I am a multi media artist working in collage, assemblage, sculpture, and paint. I created this blog so that others can join me as I grow and develop as a professional artist. I’ll be sharing my daily work, inspirations, successes, lessons and failures.
My passion for creating was sparked while stationed at a small Army camp overseas, where I began creating small collages out of paper. It was the perfect medium as the supplies took up very little space. When I returned to the United States, I expanded into ceramic and glass mosaics. These experiences encouraged me to further explore art at Minnesota State University, where in 2007 I was awarded my BFA.
Like many artists, my work is always evolving. My work tends to be focused on gender and social observations. I use humor, narrative, and fantasy to express my ideas.

I live with my husband and our four needy cats in Oklahoma. I love to run, lift weights, watch terrible movies, and read.
